Rob studied biology at LMU Munich in Germany before the Scottish Highlands beckoned him. He earned his PhD in tumor immunology at the CRUK Scotland Institute in Glasgow, UK, where he focused on the diversity of anti-tumor γδ T cells and their potential for adoptive cell therapy in genetically engineered mouse models of breast cancer. In the Majzner lab, Rob is particularly interested in developing CAR T cells that modulate the tumor (immune-)microenvironment to enhance the efficacy of combination therapies. In his spare time, Rob enjoys traveling, spending time with friends, exploring new restaurants, photography, and playing tennis.
